Dear friends,

Once again September is upon us and SPRING IS IN THE AIR!! Had to laugh yesterday in church as I listened to someone mc´ing one of the services. Yesterday (being the last day of August and therefore Winter) was cold, wet and somewhat dull (so unlike Sydney!), but there was this great PUMP FACTOR that tomorrow was the FIRST DAY OF SPRING AND EVERYTHING WOULD CHANGE!! I know we were just having fun, but in many ways that “childlike” attitude reflects the spirit of our church. Over the last 25 years, we´ve experienced just about every season on offer. On so many fronts we´ve been blessed with crazy, outrageous and wonderful favour that we will be eternally grateful for, yet when certain spiritual storm clouds have gathered, this amazing, stoic, Christ-centered spirit rises within our church and refuses to allow anything to sway us from our focus and purpose in God.

Personal spiritual capacity isn’t usually seen in the so called “good times”.

It’s seen when the challenge and testing is on, and personally Brian and I are so proud (in the right sense) that our church has this capacity to always respond with maturity, grace and love. So many of you are living testimony to the grace and kindness of Christ within. In 2 Corinthians 8:7 Paul exhorts us to “excel” across many areas of life (knowledge, kindness, love, generosity) so that we might KNOW the grace of God. And I think one of the reasons our church continues in blessing, is because over the past two and half decades, as God has extended opportunity to excel, so many of you have responded and done so. We love you church, and thank God daily for you all.

This month will be MEGA

Brian and I are home and looking forward to some focused input. We’ve got special themes happening across Saturday night and Sunday services (including HEROES OF THE FAITH). We are gathering the “soul” of our church for a Leadership Vision Night and our annual in–house seminar; SEX, LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS… well what can we say… I just think Ed and Lisa Young are going to be both hilarious and inspiring! Yep, buckle up church, we’re going to a “WHOLE NUTHA LEVEL!!”

Okay, enough rambling… we love you, be blessed, be in the know of what’s happening… And we’ll see ya somewhere in the madness and fun!! (Okay, how cool is that new song about heaven!! Love it! “LORD, open the heavens, pour out Your Spirit and bless every person who reads this!” Amen, Amen, Amen!)
